Ariel was a rockstar model.

When the opportunity presented itself to work with Ariel, I knew I had to make it happen…even though I just had shoulder surgery and my arm was in a sling. I called up another photographer I knew through the studio I was a teacher in and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. The shoot went amazingly smooth.

For this image composite, I experimented by taking the color channels of three separate but similar images and blended them together. Her movements were very refined and suggestive of emotion–she’s a professional model, after all. But when only a portion of the image data is used, it abstracts her natural beauty and draws attention to the digital photographic process.
